Frequently Asked Questions

Email a brief description of your project to DSA@poligon.com. Poligon will provide you with a link to download the PC-approved drawings.

Since the structures already have DSA approval, they decrease coordination prior to DSA submittal and shorten the DSA review process. Our PC-approved structures provide all those benefits while still permitting flexible structure dimensions and a wide variety of options.

A typical project may have the following time line:
– 1 week over-the-counter DSA approval for your project
– 8 to 12 weeks for production and delivery of structure after DSA approval

A typical project may have the following time line:
– 4 to 6 weeks to create drawings and calculations for DSA submittal

Email a brief description of your project to DSA@poligon.com. One of our professional engineers will manage all of the technical aspects of the steel structure on your project, while our local sales reps will communicate everything related to schedules and pricing. We will all work together to make your project a success.

For custom structures, our professional engineers will work will you to identify the optimal roof type for your project. Our PC-approved structures include the following two metal roof options:
– 24 gage Multi-Rib with Kynar finish (click here for available colors)
– 22 gage 16” standing seam (click here for available colors)

Yes, but the amount of additional capacity varies per project (depending on the seismic design requirements for the geographical location). Please email DSA@poligon.com and one of our professional engineers can help you identify the allowable load for your project.

For PC-approved structures, please reference the example DSA-103 form located on sheet PD1.1 of the PC-approved drawings. The special inspections identified on that example form must be incorporated into the DSA-103 form for the entire project. For custom structures, the architect can decide if the Poligon drawings will have their own DSA-103 form or if our special inspection requirements will be incorporated into the DSA-103 form for the entire project (our experience suggests that DSA prefers to have a single DSA-103 form for an entire project).

DSA requires a third-party special inspector to be present during fabrication, typically hired by the school district. Please email any questions to DSA@poligon.com.

As we all know, surprises frequently pop up on construction projects and Poligon will remain engaged throughout the entire project and make sure everything is addressed. Given our long history of successful DSA projects, we can work directly with the architect, general contractor, subcontractor, or site inspector to answer any questions or quickly resolve any field issues.
